SWVOMS is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Center of Excellence
Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Center of Excellence
Southwest Virginia Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (SWVOMS) has earned the distinction of Oral & Maxillofacial Center of Excellence. Centers of excellence are specialized programs within healthcare institutions that persistently provide exceptionally high concentrations of expertise and related resources, such as leadership, best practices, research, and training.
Centers of excellence are not commonly found in oral health but are more common within the healthcare industry. Patients and referral sources should understand that a center of excellence signifies exceptional provider skill and quality outcomes, particularly regarding patient care.
In earning the OMS Center of Excellence distinction, SWVOMS also obtained certification from The Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), the recognized leader in ambulatory health care accreditation. They proudly advocate for high-quality health care and patient safety by engaging a wide range of ambulatory healthcare experts to develop, review, and revise standards, assess organizations against these standards and their policies and procedures, and create tools to support continuous quality improvement.
Earning these two certifications and marks of distinction further indicates the quality of care and service provided to the patients of Southwest Virginia Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
